What does the Neck Lift procedure includes?

• The first step includes administration of medications as per your comfort during the procedure. General anaesthesia is given by our very competent intensivist and anaesthetists.
• The incision depends on the degree of change required or the type of neck lift chosen by you after the discussion and consultation.

Full Neck lift Incision: Incision begins at inside of front of the ear which continues down around the ear and ends in the hair on the side of your scalp. A small incision is given at the chin also for dissection of the skin and the muscle. The underlying tissues of the neck skin are then repositioned, and the platysma muscle is tightened. Fat is redistributed from the neck area and the jowls. The excess skin is trimmed and skin is red raped over the uplifted contours.

Limited incision Neck Lift: Incision is made only around the ear. Since the incision is shorter, so its result is also limited. So it is done for men and women with lesser deformity, less skin excess and bands.

Neck liposuction can be combined with neck lift surgery. A small incision is made at the chin level and behind the ears and the liposuction is done to remove extra deposits of fat not targeted by neck lift.

Botox injection to few remaining platysmal bands after the surgery to relax the muscle and remove the fullness associated with the bands.

After the surgery, the incisions are closed with the help of sutures and skin glue. We may place a thin tube to drain any excess fluid or blood which may collect under the skin. • Seroma formation or fluid accumulation can occur which subsides with time.
• There will be faintly visible scars present along the incision which might hypertrophy only if you are prone for it
• Facial asymmetry which might require revision surgery
• Altered skin sensation or numbness
• Temporary or permanent hair loss along the incision lines
• Rare chances of Infection which usually subsides with good antibiotics.
• There can be persistent swelling and bruising, tightness and discomfort in the surgical area which reduces with time.
• If you have a poor blood supply, the healing can be poor giving rise to wound healing problems (seen more in smokers, diabetes, hypothyroidism and in persons with multiple diseases).
